need to verify ocd

i have to clarify if i have ocd or if it's just in my head. i have a fear of getting food poisioning from almost everything i eat. it affects the way i eat and what i chose to eat. i also have a fear of throwing up. here comes what i think is ocd: i have to count things a certian number of times. different numbers for different things i am doing. also, everything i do has to be done on the left - example: buying yogurt at the store has to be picked out of the farthest left side and i always pick the 3rd one back in the left row. i feel that certain things in the house have to be placed a certain way. i feel that if i don't do the counting, picking from the left and placing things a certain way that i am going to get sick and barf. i also check all of the locks and make sure the stove is off repeatedly. i have anxiety/panic disorder which i take wellbutrin for the past 8 years. it's controlled the panic attacks very well. i have never told a dr about what i mentioned in this post. what should i do? if it's not hurting anyone does it matter if i feel this way?

Good luck with the DR. and all as we are really meant to live fear free and some days peaceful and happy.

Hi, Yes, some of my family has been really sick. I think I may have to discuss it with a Dr. because I don't like having to feel like I have to do something to avoid something bad happening.

There isn't a clear cut diagnosis forOCD, however, it certainly sounds like a touch of it.  It sounds like you have a lot of fear of getting sick.  A lot of fear period.  Mention it to your DR.  It seems harmless enough, as long as the OCD doesn't grow to porportions of really unwanted thoughts.  Has anyone been real sick in your family?
