extracted wisdom tooth

I had one of my lower wisdom teeth extracted about 48 hours ago and I still feel alot of pain and it is still oozing a little.  Could you tell me if this is normal.  Shouldn't the pain be subsiding by now and the instructions the dentist gave me said the oozing should stop by 24 hours.  Also, I have bad breath with a bad taste in my mouth.
Thank You

I don't have dental ins. so I wanted to see what you said before being seen with another bill.  Must have been infected because I put hydrogen peroxide on the area and all the signs of infection diminished.  The oozing and bad breath stopped,  the swelling I was having went down shortly after putting it on, and the best one is the pain almost imediately got better and is now is fine.

First,  only your doctor call tell you if it is "normal."  Every surgery is different with varying post-op expectations.  You should definitely call your doctor directly as this may not be what they are expecting for your healing.

Bleeding almost always stops within 24 hrs for oral surgery.  If you are bleeding then call your doctor immediately.

It is also possible that you are in the early stages of a "dry socket" or infection.  In any case, you need to contact your doctor.
