Infections after surgery

I had a total knee replacement in October 08 which was very successful.  However, in January I came down with blepharitis.  After 2 doctors, drops and antibiotics they now have stuck pins in the blister like sores that line my eyes and suggest I see a surgeon to have the under my eyelids scraped out.  These blisters when broken, bleed and ooze.  In addition to this infection I went to the dentist for cleaning.  I took the prescribed antibioics before and all was fine.  Than last week a filling fell out and when I went to the dentist he said my tooth had cracked in 3 places and was effecting the tooth on the side of it.  He had to pull the tooth, which is the 2nd from the back upper molar.  I have a full exam scheduled for next week.  My question is are these infections due to my knee surgery, can they effect my recovery of my knee surgery or are they just different problems although?  I know they said infections can be very dangerous.

I don't agree with the Doctor, although I am not a Doctor myself. I had a simple orthoscope to remove some torn meniscus. 12 days later my knee swole up to the point I had to have another surgery to drain my knee (with a 12 in scar) I was hospitalized for 8 days and put on Vancomycin and Clindamycin and ended up with infections all over my body. Though they cultured what they found in my knee, they could not come up with a diagnosis. My skin broke out in a rash for weeks and my eyes also became infected, to the point I could not see and my contacts had to come out and my glasses didn't help with my sight. It took about a month of cold sweats at night and during the day but I finally recovered. I almost lost the lower portion of my leg. The body is a weird vessel for infection.
