Knee pain

Male 69 Had soreness/tightness/pain for sveral weeks behind left knee.Four days ago knee locked for a instant and snapped (behind knee) Fell to the floor with intense pain.Now unable to put full weight on Lt leg.No swelling behind knee/light swelling above front of knee cap.Pain when bending knee /more pain when bending with Lt toes pointed toward the outside.The snap seemed to come from behind and to the left end of the joint.Soreness/tightness remain. What could be happening?    ~~Thanks Bill~~

This could be a torn meniscus, a loose body, or irritation of an arthritic knee. If your symptoms persist more than several days, despite rest, ice and judicious use of of over the counter NSAID's, I would see an orthopedist for a full evaluation.

MRI confirms a torn medial meniscus, possible torn PCL, and alot of fluid.   Thanks ~~~Bill~~~
