having r sided hip surgery with l sided shoulder injury

A person went in for a r hip replacement and after surgery  had a left torn rotator cuff- no problems before with shoulders- Could the surgery be that ruff that itcaused the tear.Thanks

Not likely.  More probable is that they had an asymptomatic rotator cuff tear that was aggravated by the use of a walker or crutches.
