Advice needed on foot injury

Hi All,

24hrs ago I damaged my foot surfing. I twisted over the top of my right foot. No impact of the foot occured but I have a lot of pain coming from the top of the foot. I spent two hours in casualty last night but was advised that no break could be seen on the x ray of the metatarsal (2nd -3rd). The doctor was a bit dismissive but this morning I have struggled to walk and the pain is worse. Am I right in thinking that the X-rays should have been taken whilst standing up? This wasn’t the case. Would it pose any problems to the recovery if I waited for 5 days to evaluate the pain then? I’m concerned that I’ve damaged the lisfranc joint at the top of the metatarsal which requires a quick response to treatment. Should I go and see my GP or see if the pain subsides first?

Thanks in Advance,

Regards,

Rob

Hi, relax, apply crepe bandage over the foot and keep on taking pain killers as they will help reducing the accompanied inflammation. Keep your leg elevated during sleep as chances of swelling are high after foot injury.

Get repeat x ray done after 3 days and consult orthopedic surgeon.
