Babies Extra Toe

My 6 month old daughter was born with an "extra" toe, that is joined to her baby toe, almost as if it was meant to be another toe, but didn't separate. I'm assuming that I will have to see a plastic surgeon as I don't want this to interfere with her walking, and she fit, but has anyone ever heard of this, and ever had it fixed?

Hi there!

Yes, this is a common anomaly and can be fixed surgically. I would suggest seeing an orthopedic surgeon before you see a plastic surgeon to rule out underlying bone abnormalities that may need to be corrected.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

HI,
This is a frequently occurring problem and can be easily corrected. Once done your daughter should be fine. You need to see a plastic and an orthopaedic surgeon.
Hope this helps.
