Usually bony avulsions (tibial or femoral) of posterior cruciate ligament are treated with sutures/wires/screws using arthroscopic surgery. Since it a 11.5mm fragment, wires may be used to hold it in place. Immobilization is done after this. However, since your doctor has put you in cast, please ask your doctor regarding this decision. Maybe there is something you do not know about. Take a second opinion with an ortho specialist who can examine you. Show him your MRI report.
