Cracked joint of little finger?

Hello.
Just got curious if it's possible to get a fracture without significant pain, only tenderness to certain area and little pain when moving.
The thing his that I happened to walk in the dark and tripped over shoes and with my right hand hit the wall. I heard a really loud crack in the joint of little finger and terrible pain. It lasted only for a while but now when I touch the joint it has some mild tenderness and when I try to bend it at certain point I can feel slight pain. There wasn't any swelling, at least not noticeably.
So I'm just wondering because there was an incident with stubbing toe and now I believe I cracked it then (several years ago).

Hi.
Thank you!
It was indeed helpful as I figured it was only some ligament injury (considering the site of the pain that came with harsher movement.

Right now it feels somewhat normal. I did try hard bending and the occasional bolt of pain still occurs but at much lower intensity (still no usual 'crack' for the joint though).

But at least now it seems fine enough. Though I try not to put too much hard force anyways.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, a fracture could occur without pain/ tenderness, though it would be an uncommon situation. Other likely possibilities include muscle/ tendon/ ligament injuries, inflammations, arthritis, growths/ masses, degenerations, neuro-mscular issues etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

Well now some time's passed since my incident but nothing's changed yet.
Two days I have new symptom- extensor pain at lateral (outer?) side of finger all the way up to fingertip and especially at knuckles.

I still try to decide what exactly the problem might be because it doesn't seem like there's anything about bone, more like volar (palmar) plate involved.

If anyone could suggest anything it'd be helpful.
