Help with shoulder MRI results

Hi!

I just got the results for a shoulder MRI. I was just wondering what it actually means?

Impression:

- Mild tendinosis of the anterior margin of the supraspinatus tendon. Cannot exclude a tiny 2x2 mm intrasubstance tear.
- Mild subacromial-subdeltoid bursitis
- Trace glenohumeral joint effusion

My shoulder is mostly just sore, with sharp pain when lifting and moving my arm certain directions. I've already done 3 months of PT, had a cortisone shot in the shoulder a month ago, and have taken Nabumetone for the past month (Ibuprofen for 3 months prior to that). The cortisone and Nabumetone have helped, but it's still sore and hurting. I use my shoulder a lot for lifting at work.

First, de Quervain's syndrome (named for Dr. Fritz de Quervain - Swiss), is not related to any shoulder problems (even though they involve tendons).  Second, I am thinking you might have Shoulder Impingement Syndrome. You can Google it to see if that fits your personal symptoms. I wouldn't be too concerned about the 2 X 2mm intrasubstance tear, however, it could be a problem later if it increases (surgery). Best of wishes, jd1963!

I forgot to mention that I'm a 27 year old female. I also have de Quervain's in that wrist. I don't know if since it's a tendon issue, they could be related?
