Hip/knee replacements

I had a total left knee replacement done 10 years ago. I now need to have that knee redone, plus a left hip replacement done. My question is, can I have both these done at the same time?

The simultaneous revision surgery and replacement  of the both the knees seems difficult in your case with flutter and fibrillation. You should avoid the surgery as it may cause further complications.

I know  they do bilateral knee replaements, but is it possible to have my left knee redone and my left hip replaced at the same time. I just turned 50 in June so age is not a problem. I do have a history of a-fib and a-flutter but no other heart/lung problems.

Hello Dear,
In bilateral Knee Replacements  both knees are operated upon simultaneously or sequentially under single anesthetic exposure. Candidates for this procedure should be below 75 years and free from heart or lung disease.Revision surgery may not be very successful and is more complicated than primary replacement. You should discuss all the advantages and disadvantage before going for revision surgery.
