How do I treat bone spurs and large bone grown 6 yrs. post knee replacement?

I had both of my knees replaced totally, about six years ago. The past few days I have been in excruciating pain on my right knee only. Went to doctor and exrays showed many bone spurs and a large bone mass growing on the outside of the replaced knee. I am on a anti inflammatory to reduce inflammation which has taken away a great deal of my pain but my only options are a shot in the knee for pain relief and surgery and physical therapy for my patellar which are also not in place. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated for a longer term fix.
