It is now 4 weeks since total knee replacement and I am finding that though I have the usual pain and knee stiffness my ongoing nagging problem is hip pain especially at night can any one advise or know when its likely to cease - its really very painful.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

I would suggest you to continue physiotherapy and the surgical pain will decrease by 4 weeks and by 12 weeks with continued physiotherapy the pain and discomfort will decrease at the knee joint.

The hip pain can be due to the sleeping postures and also due to your physiotherapy. I would suggest you to apply ice packs and take NSAIDs.

If the pain continues follow up with your orthopedician.

Take care!
