Knee bursa

About 20 years ago I had 75% of my right bursa sack removed from my right knee due to injury.  I work in retail and the floor is cement.  I've been there 4 yrs.  I'm also 51 years old.  Lately my right knee has been hurting quite a bit with some swelling at night.  I have had to do some heavy lifting the past few weeks and the pain lessons in the morning but still hurts quite a bit.  Is it possible I've injured it again or is it possibly being 51?

hi buddy,
you don't have much options. You can use a lot of cotton padding in your brace, so that when you kneel there is absolutely no contact between the hard surface as well as bone. Rest, we can't do much.
Ice packs as well as ointments will help you a lot.

In my current position I work 15 hr days 5 days a week.  While there is some kneeling I wear a brace and still experience swelling and pain.  I am stepping down to a lower position in 3 months to 40 hrs.  Is their anything besides ice I can do for the swelling ?.

hi buddy,
bursa is like a cushion. SO when any hard part(bones, etc) is in constant friction, our body forms a bursae to provide smooth gliding movement. Since you have a large part of it removed, you are facing this problem.
If you kneel, don't do it directly on floor, rather do it over a cushion.
