Knee cap problems

When I was a freshman in highschool I had seen a Doctor about my knee problem, and was tolded that my knee caps were making new knee jionts by themselves. They had done surgery on my right knee. I was wondering what the medical name was for this type of knee problem.

my son has had a bruse around hi knee for 2 weeks. I have iced it and gave ibuprofen. help

Dear Sherri407,

If it is a tendonitis, partial minor tears of ligament then it will heal with rest,anti inflammatory drugs and icing the area.
If not would need complete diagnosis from an expert Orthopedician. He would need X-ray and MRI etc.
