Lateral Release complications - possible outcomes?

On September 27th/17 i had a lateral release on my right knee, during surgery if was found that i had deep fissue behind my patella, had a torn meniscus, and needed the removal of a thick pilca. i have had a slow recovery and have had consistent pain, snapping, popping, crunching, grinding..ect. at my last appointment i was told that i had a medial patello-femoral plica, and that through exercise and PT i would be ok, i also received a cortisol shot, and then had a very rough painful couple days - the shot didn't seem to help much except add to the pain. I have another appointment on Jan 23/17, but two days ago we had a major ice storm and i slipped and fell on my knee (Since surgery i haven't been able to kneel at all, not even a little bit, i know it doesn't sound like a big deal until you have to crawl back into bed....) to keep my face from smashing into the ground i landed kneeling on my right knee - white hot pain - bye bye vision for a good 30 seconds. I was able to get my self up, but since then i've been in pain have medial swelling over the release site, and the joint is hot. Did i just undo everything? or i just aggrevate an already bad situation?
