MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

The MRI describes slight backward displacement of L5 over S1 (lower spine vertebrae) and an intravertebral disc prolapse at L5/ S1 causing narrowing of the spaces that carry the spinal nerves. Since the changes appear to be mild-moderate, an initial trial of conservative management may be suggested with rest and anti-inflammatory medications followed by physiotherapy to strengthen the back muscles. If the conservative management fails in 3-6 months, interventional/ surgical modes of management may be considered. I would suggest discussing the situation and the management plan in detail with your treating orthopedician.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
