MRI scan report

i want to know about the severity of my problem after a MRI scan . the scan was done as i was having severe pain accelerating to my buttocks . iam now on medicines and physiotherapy . The report says1) POSTERO-CENTRAL DISC PROTRUSION WITH CENTRAL  L5-S1 LEVEL CAUSING CENTRAL CANAL NARROWING AND MLIDLY INDENTING THE TRAVERSING NERVE ROOTS
2)MILD PSEUDO DISC BULGE AT L4-L5 DUE TO ANTEROLISTHESIS WITH NO SIGNIFICANT NEURAL COMPROMISE.. I wish to know about the excercises i should do and also  what all things i should do to   hereafter prevent this .

Hi again!

You may consult your physiotherapist for the exercises that would be advised in your case, which you could continue after the physiotherapy sessions get over.

thank you for the reply and now i am feeling better and there is no pain.but i want to know  about the excersises i should  doafter the  physiotherapy

Hi there!

The report mentions that there is canal narrowing and mild indentation on the corresponding nerve roots at L5-S1 level (lower spine). Also there is anterolisthesis (forward protrusion of the upper vertebra in relation to the lower vertebra) at L4-L5 level (one level above). Since the canal narrowing and pressure on the nerve roots is mild this may improve with conservative management including anti-inflammatory medications and physiotherapy. If the condition fails to improve with these measures or further worsens, interventional/ surgical options may be considered.
