For Me it turned out to be Chondromalacea(?) Patella, which was an injury to the cartilage in the knee. Surgery took care of it mostly and after about 8-9 months after surgery I was almost as good as normal. Still have discomfort(on a small scale compared to before) from time to time, but nothing requiring even an ibuprofen to deal with. Hopefully, yours is as easily dealt with.
My well wishes and respect to those still serving in the sandbox and beyond. Coming, for what its worth, from a Med Retired USN..You all do Us proud.
I have painful and terrible knees. You have my total sympathy. Baby your injuries now or they could get a lot worse. But that's not why I'm writing. I am writing to say that I spent time in Hit, Anbar, Iraq with Lt. Col. Dill and the 1st battalion. They are a brave and efficient battalion. If you see any of them, please give them my regards. They did an INCREDIBLE job of working with the local communities and helping to bring the rule of law to Anbar.

Hi, thank you for your service to our country. I'm sorry you have this problem, but since it's been quite a while, I really think you need to get to a doctor who can order an MRI. I wonder if you tore something since you said it's constant pain.
I have knee issues from arthritis and cartiledge wearing away, but it doesn't hurt at rest or all the time. This sounds serious to me, and it will probably only get worse if you don't get it taken care of.
The fat pad under kneecap has been injuried,It's hard to heal itself as poor circulation. In China, Silver needls warming therapy is good treatment for this,if you can find a reputable one in your area. Good luck!
