Hi!
FNAC should be done properly on the lymph node for coming to a diagnosis for any tumor. Biopsy is another option if the node is located superficially. Go for FNAC and Biopsy to rule of malignancy. Did you find any anomaly in CT scan or MRI?
Till you are diagnosed with localized malignancy there is no need to remove your lymph nodes. The lymph nodes will decrease in size by antibiotics if you have any localized infection or by Anti tuberculosis therapy if you have tuberculosis.
Discuss all options for treatment depending on the results of the tests.
Take care!
Dear Dr. Vinod,
Thanks for the promt advice. Already I have done CT scan, ultra sound, fine niddle biopsy test. In needle biopsy the pathologist said sample was insufficient for digonosis.
Ultra sound & ct scan done by same radiologist showing the size of lymphnode 1.5x1.1x0.6 cm. After reviewing all these results ENT dr. said not to worry and come again after 3-4 months to check the size of lymphnode whether is increased or not. He said that he will not recomend strongly to remove it by operation.
But the ENT dr. and myself also feel that it is biger than the above mentioned size about 2 - 3cm long (by looking & feeling by hand). There is one more lymphnode near left side ear at same location but smaller in size (1.2x1.2x0.4). But problem like sense of pressure, discomfort (can not say pain) is only right side.
Can you advise me please looking on all these details.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sanjay
Dear Sanjay,
Hi!,
Lymph nodes get enlarged in response to some infection or inflammation in the surrounding area.
You need to go for an X-ray and Scan and if required MRI to diagnose your neck problem. The pain might also be due to some other problem, Eg infection, Tuberculosis etc.
A visit to an orthopaedician will help in diagnosing if you have any problem with the neck muscles.
We advise you to follow up with a Physician for proper diagnosis.
Take care!
