Pain around break under cast

I broke my tibia in a "severe break" on dec 14. I went for a follow up with orthopedic 5 days later and was told alignment is great. They continued the full leg cast and my next appointment is Jan 9. Last Sunday (5days after my follow up), I started feeling a pain where the break was. The pain is not consistent, I could go a whole day without it but when it comes it is for awhile (half a day but not consistent only when moving). I went to the orthopedics asking some questions as this is my first break of a bone. They did not do an X-ray and stated since it is not consistent pain that will not go away and seeing how there is no swelling, or discoloration they did not have a concern and said pain is due to having a severe break.

Does anyone else get a pain under your cast??

Potentially yes. It's not uncommon for it to hurt or be a bit tender when it's healing. Also bruising and soft tissue damage can take a while to heal
