Pain in left side of back

Hi!I am 17 years old girl and I play basketball for 7 years now.Sometimes I get a horrible pain in my left side of back.About 9 months ago I made a wrong move about and felt a strong sharp pain in the left side, physiotherapist told me I should go to orthopaedist but I never did.I also had back pain before that. Than again a month ago I started to feel a bit pain in the lower side of back then the left side started to hurt from the mid of the back to somewhere above the knee.It turned out it was sciatica. But when I'm lying down I have a feeling like the right side of my back is above the left side, and when I'm doin some exercise I feel like left side doesn't participate at all.I also had a meniscus injury in my left knee, and I keep it away from contact a lot cause I have some feeling that it is going to slip sometimes.Any help would be awesome, I really don't wanna go to doctor cause I hate giving my parents and friends reason to worry about.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include genitor-urinary causes such as infections, calculi etc, postural issues, neuro-muscular causes, injuries, spinal issues such as degeneration etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
