Pectoral and Scapular pain

About 10 days ago I developed a very localized pain in my left pectoral region that coincided with a similar type pain localized to the inferior angle of my left scapula.   The best way I can describe the pain is a cross between a bruise and a burn sensation.  There are no visible signs on the surface, other than the redness that comes from me poking at it from time to time to see if I sense anything unusual beneath the surface.

The pain has not worsened nor spread since onset, but has also not improved.  It is neither worsened nor improved by activity or exertion.  I have experienced no fever nor recent illness, and I am in otherwise very good health.

I can say, though, that this is at the forefront of my awareness now...just the sensation of clothes across these areas aggravates them, as does sitting in chairs or in the car while driving...

Could this be referred pain?  something metabolic?  Simple effects of costochondritis??  I'm at a loss...

Hi,
How are you feeling?
What kind of pain is it, is it shooting or dull kind of pain? How long does the pain last? Is there radiation of pain from left pectorals?
You said you drive a large truck, how continuous you drive before you take a break?
I think there is nerve impingement in particular position while driving and similar position is causing you more illness.
I think you need to have imaging study involving your shoulder joint as to see if any nerve impingement if it exists.
You can also consult a Musculo-Skeletal specialist for evaluation and review.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.

I am a 25 year old male.  Last year I had a pain like the individual above.  It went away for awhile and now it is back.  My pain is right below my left pec and sometimes in the same area on my back.  It is a shrp tight feeling.  This pain only seems to come along while I am driving. Sometimes so bad that I have to get out of the car.  I have not gotten the pain before while not driving.  I have noticed that I am very irratable when I feel the pain.  I dont know if I am stressed before the pain or just stressed because the pan is so uncomfortable. (If stress has anything to do with the pain)  I went to the Dr last year but no conclusion was ever reached.  I do Drive a large truck most of the time, but I dont get the pain everytime I drive.

Hi,
With the history you have mentioned it seems to be an muscular sprain like condition. Try to take rest for couple of days along with muscle relaxants.
If it still persists, schedule an appointment  with your physician as a proper clinical examination is essential.
