About 10 days ago I developed a very localized pain in my left pectoral region that coincided with a similar type pain localized to the inferior angle of my left scapula. The best way I can describe the pain is a cross between a bruise and a burn sensation. There are no visible signs on the surface, other than the redness that comes from me poking at it from time to time to see if I sense anything unusual beneath the surface.
The pain has not worsened nor spread since onset, but has also not improved. It is neither worsened nor improved by activity or exertion. I have experienced no fever nor recent illness, and I am in otherwise very good health.
I can say, though, that this is at the forefront of my awareness now...just the sensation of clothes across these areas aggravates them, as does sitting in chairs or in the car while driving...
Could this be referred pain? something metabolic? Simple effects of costochondritis?? I'm at a loss...
