Please... sos!

Hi.. I just found this site and am praying I will get an answer.. about 2 weeks ago I starting having severe pain in my left and right knee, the pain is right on my knee cap, like on top.  The pain is excruciating if I am going down something, the right knee has gotten so bad I have to hop down stairs or declines.  The pain is sharp and stabbing.  What is it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Rest for couple of days, apply ice packs and take over the counter NSAIDs such as ibuprofen for couple of days.

Recollect if you had any fall, injuries involving your knee or lower lumbar spine.

If pain continues you have to consider some scans such as X-ray and MRI and follow up with an orthopedician for proper diagnosis and treatment.

It is important not to exert yourself and be careful till your pain decreases or till you get a proper diagnosis.

Take care!
