Post-surgical rehab - patellar tendon

I am 5 weeks post-sugery for bilateral patellar tendon ruptures. Just saw my ortho again last week, and he does not want me starting formal PT for another month? Most everything I read has people in PT within a few weeks after surgery. I am now in hinged braces (open to 90 degrees) but only have 30-40 degrees of ROM right now. Walking without assistance and bearing full weight. Should I be in PT?

You should be doing OKC (open kinetic chain) activities now. ROM exercises you should have been doing for weeks.... Go to another physio/pod, your current one is either old school or has no idea.
