Severe nerve pain in wrist? 2 days post op

My aunt fractured her wrist terribly and had to have plates and screws placed to reset it. She is now on day 2 post surgery and in incredible pain, meds don't seem to be helping, and I am reaching out for any help or advice on what we can be doing to help.

I know the chances of you coming back to the site are pretty slim but I thought I would comment anyway. 10 years ago I fell and broke my wrist playing basketball with my nephew lol anyway I still have the plate and screw in there. I went through excruciating pain after the surgery it went into neuropathy it was horrendous. Now it’s giving me trouble again and I’m thinking do I have to have it removed and just the thought of going through that kind of pain.., again does

Gosh, really sorry to hear she is in so much pain.  Surgery is hard.  Did they give her pain pills temporarily?  It's only been 2 days post op which is pretty fast. Well, now it has been a few more days than that.  Is it any better?  If she has ligament issues surrounding the area and it was a complex repair, it will hurt more and longer, unfortunately.  Normally about 2 weeks after surgery, people can do light movement of the wrist.  When in doubt though, check back with her doctor!
