Sports Injury Question

Hi.
I got injured from a soccer game a week and three-four days ago. An opposing soccer team player clashed their knee into the bottom inner thigh part on my right leg(above the knee, closer to the left). This left swelling and pain. The swelling's gone now, the pain decreased, I've been doing R.I.C.E (although I should elevate more - I did a lot in the beginning), I got a compression wrap four days ago, I've been altering ice-and-moist heat after 72 hours passed since my injury. I hope I get better soon. I still did kung fu almost a week after injury and I only do it once a week (I'm a beginner - stationary pose). It doesn't hurt.

Two questions: 1) I noticed I got a rash-like skin condition after I started to use moist heat on my injury. Why is that? 2) Today I noticed a light brown bruise appearance around the upper portion of my knee and a very small bruise dot somewhere on my injury. What does that say?

I also did not visit the doctor, assuming this is an acute injury.

Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

1. Without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to say what this could be, this could be a thermal burn or a skin infections or other few causes.
2. It could suggest soft tissue bleeding.
I would recommend seeing a primary care physician or an orthopedician to rule out injuries and suggestion of an appropriate management plan.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
