Surgeon #1 made a serious mistake

In May 2013 had knee surgery of the right knee then July 2013 had the left knee done. I continued to have a lot of pain and problem. Went to ER due to the pain and the doctor told me if I could get a second opinion and friends also told me that. I got a 2nd opinion. The second doctor told me the implant was oversized. He did the surgery over and put in the right size of implant in Dec 2013. Am still having a lot of pain and problems. Going for another opinion this month.  The lower right calf hurts every time I walk. The new implant goes all the way the right calf. Could the 2nd surgeon have made a mistake also?
Thank you so much.

The 2nd surgeon said the implant went down the front of the leg and the spot where it is to end hurts like a bruise. In back of the left knee is still stiff and hurts bad. Was wondering if the 2nd doctor made a mistake or if he just wanted to redo a surgery the 1st doctor did to get more money. Can barely walk. The artificial knee moves so much I feel it and can hear it move for it makes noise. I do have a 3rd opinion the 30th. Do you think the 2nd doctor just wanted to do surgery anyway?

Hello and Welcome to MedHelp! I am the Orthopedic Community Leader.

I was checking to see if we were on the same page, the bottom of your post says "related to upper back between the Scapula's and Spine? I am assuming you had bilaleral TKR's.

I am a Orthopedic Surgical First Assistant (25+ years) and have helped with hundreds of this procedures, but I have never seen or heard of the wrong size implant being used. I mean really, it's right in front of you - it would be like buying a ring that didn't fit!

I'm not sure what you mean by the new implant and the calf. A TKR doesn't involve the calf at all.

You can always seek some pain relief at a Pain Management Clinic until the situation is resolved (with your Doctors permission).

I will try to offer any suggestions I can. Please feel free to contact me anytime. Have a great day!  JD1963
