Upper arm pain (please help)

For the past month I've been having right upper arm pain.I also had slight upper arm pain in my left arm but its NOT a problem like my right arm and it's basically gone, just thought I'd mention it. The pain has changed a little this week because now I feel it radiating down into my forearm, into my hand.. My upper arm mainly hurts and has a sharp pain when I move my arm using my upper-arm but there is a constant dull ache in my forearm. Heat and cold don't help. 500mg Tylenol doesn't work. Idk what it could possibly be.. I figure a muscle strain would have gone away by now because I work out on my arms on occasion but I don't remember hurting myself.. I also have been playing the PSP (handheld video game) a lot more lately, could that be it? What could cause it to be here for a month? I have a doctor's appointment in a month (earliest appointment) so if anyone has any information on what it could be and how to treat it, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for your feedback. I've stayed off the PSP for around 4 days or so now, it seems to not be getting any better. I wish I could get into the doctor's sooner. I also notice that the pain seems to go underneath my clavicle .. and also down into my fingers too.

Hi, median nerve involvement or lesion leads to problems in hand not in arms (carpal tunnel syndrome) like loss of pronation and decresed flexion at wrist joint. For neuropathis pain drugs like gabapentin, carbamazepine, amitryptiline and tramadol are prescribed.

Please don't try these drugs without doctor's examination.

I wonder if it's my median nerve.. it certainly seems to flow from around there. What is done to fix a nerve if something is wrong with it? Meds?

Hi, at this age cervical spondylosis is remote possibility, probably it is related to play station. Try to reduce time you devote to game and  apply hot compressions along with diclofenac tablets.

Hi, how old are you? One possibility is cervical spondylosis, which should be ruled out. X ray cervical spine or MRI will be helpful. Pinched or compressed nerve at the level of cervical spine either due to osteophyte or disc protrusion give rise to pain in arms along with tingling sensations.

Try pain killer diclofenac, physiotherapy along with hot compression for 4-5 days.
