Will my finger heal straight?

I fractured my finger while playing football, it happened 3 weeks ago and I was put in a special cast to keep my hand in an L shape, my ring finger has a major fracture diagonal through the middle of the finger splitting it in two, and my little finger had a tiny fracture at the bottom of the knuckle. It has been 3 weeks now and the orthopaedic has said by the looks of the xrays it is healing good but, I have my concerns my fingers are still very bent and do not look like they are healing straight. What should I do?

First you wait and see if your surgeon is right.  If he's not, see a different surgeon for another opinion.  But truly, only time tells us these things.  Some breaks heal perfectly and some heal a bit off.  It depends on how bad the break was and the skill of your doctor and how well you followed instructions, etc.  So again, if you doc says it's going well, ask him the question you're asking here, and also again, if you don't like the answer, get a second opinion.  A really good lesson is life is that doctors are just people like you, and if you don't think a doctor you have is doing right by you get a better doc.  Peace.
