XRAY OF LOWER BACK

After having an xray of my lower back area, due to consistent lower back pain, the report read as follows: "There is generalised disc space reduction with osteophyte formation consistent with chronic disease.  The stress views show no instability".

My GP just strugged and said is aging and there's nothing to be done!

I am concerned about the "osteophyte formation CONSISTENT WITH CHRONIC DISEASE.

I am now 58 years old, but have had this lower back pain since my middle twenties, off and on.

PLEASE HELP!

Hi,
You are having chronic low back ache and even radiological evidence of Osteophyte formation with reduction in Disc space. For relief from pain you can have NSAIDS when pain is intolerable with gently applying pain releiving gel locally, daily intake of calcium and may be anabolic steroids can prevent bone degeneration. Low back muscle exercises will be helpful. While working you can also use Lumbosacral Corcet . Consult an orthopedician for further investigation.
