advise on my hamstring tear and your exprtience with hamstring injuryan

Need your impressions of my hamstring tear and advice what I should do. . Also what are your experiences with a hamstring injury and where .

A  week ago was running to retrieve something tripped and to prevent my fall stopped short and tore my  right hamstring and dropped down with a tearing pain . I got up  walking with a limp and  developed a bruise behind my knee, had spasims  throughout my hamstring, and  pain in the upper area of my hamstring just below my butt when walking and sitting was extremely  painful. There was no bruising in upper area of hamstring. I went to sports surgeon he said that I need physical thearphy , it appears that I have a tear, didd not  tell me to take a MRI and said a tear will in time by itself since I am not a runner. . I still don't know where the actual tear is. middle or proximal area.

Now a week later I am walking better but I still feel as there is a bump under my but when I sit (right Hamstring).  And still feels tender under my butt and upper hamstring and my right side of my rear end   feels tignt  sore when I twist my leg and hip to right . and some pain behind my knee. fore by injury I was getting hip pain  .  Will be seeing  a hip specialist aug 17 an maybe get a mri also.  hope I don't need surgery
