back, hip, neck, scoliosis pain

I am a 37 year old female. I was born with a displaced hip. In middle school was diagnosed with scoliosis by school nurse. Fell on tailbone as a teenager while roller skating, lower back was very bruised and in pain for weeks. I have lived with back pain for many years. The pain really started with pregnancy. I have had neck pain for approx. 3 years now. Chiro helps with the pain, but is just a temporary fix. General practioner just gives muscle relaxers.  I would love to find the right type of doctor that can get to the root of exactly what my true problems are and give me some options. Any suggestions? I live in South Carolina.

As i've posted elsewhere, I don't believe in chiropractic manipulation.  Especially of the neck, which I consider potentially dangerous.

Stick with your doctor.

Another option is a different chiro.  Try www.gonstead.com.  The Gonstead system of adjusting can sometimes helps where the more popular systems don't get as long lasting results.

I'm sorry for your neck, back and hip pains.

Neurosurgeons & Orthopedic surgeons evaluate if a surgical procedure can help with pain in these areas.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians (Physiatrists) are specialists in helping pain that cannot be surgically improved, and use physical therapy and other pain management regimens that can include other specialists such as anesthesiologists.
