bone spurs

I hope you can help me with this issue, I had surgery for "bone spurs" on my left elbow at the end of february 08. I am a (was) a really keen and weight lifter and lifted what most people consider heavy weights.
I had the procedure as my extension on the left arm was becoming limited.
I wanted the procedure to be able to straighten my arm so I could perform better in the gym.
3 weeks post op I returned to the gym and fractured my arm doing squats, no direct weight was applied to my forearm but your arms stabilises the bar that rests on your lower traps.
I then had some pin and plates (orif) to mend the distal humerus fracture.
I then found out the bone spurs on the lateral side of my elbow were removed by an ostecetomy?
looking at the xrays I have quite a large hole that entends through the elbow distal end of my humerus.
What I am really anxious about is my weight lifting, can any body advise me on what I can expect will be (if any) the restrictions on my bodybuilding will be. For example I could bench singles 170kg and rep 140kg, bumbell seated military press 50kg each hand. I am scared that this procedure I elected to have to improve my performace may have ended my "way of life".
I thought I had had the procedure through a sports clinic and I had explained that I was a serious weight lifter, I do not know why the surgeon decided to remove the spur via this method and it definately was not discussed pre or post op.
I have asked him if the ostectomy will heal (callous) and he says "no".
Will I be able to return to weight lifting "yes" but not relatively heavy weights? I am scared what does that mean?
If anyone has examples or can advise me what I could reasonably expect performance wise I would appreciate some advice.

Regards
Peter

Hi Dear,

It would take about 4 to 8 weeks for the healing. You will begin physical therapy instantly, even if you are in a cast or splint. When the cast is removed, your surgeon would determine that when you can start gym again, in case if you canBest
Take care
