Hi again!
The supraspinatus is shoulder muscles lying between the superior part of the scapula (shoulder blade) and the upper part of the humerus (arm bone). Cystic changes could occur in injuries or in a few inflammatory conditions as well. You could correlate the findings with those mentioned in the previous post and also discuss these in detail with your doctor and the exact surgical procedure that you would be undergoing.
Hope this is useful.
Take care!
My mri report says minor high signal in the supraspinatus tendon probably due to tendinosis. There is no fluid in the subacromial bursa. There are small cystic changes in the humeral head and the acromion (not head of the hunerus) is low lying...
The pain I am experiencing is bad.. Even after to cortison injections... I know Im having the surgery which I am happy about, but id like to know what these results mean...
Thanks for your help!
Hi there!
Well, these are vague details. Tendonitis refers to inflammation of a tendon; however the extent and the tendons involved have not been mentioned. Reduced fluid is associated with injuries and chronic inflammation, causing decreased lubrication of the joint. Low lying humerus could indicate a subluxation. It would be best to discuss the report and the management plan in detail with your orthopedician.
Hope this helps.
Take care!
