hi dear,
this investigation has to be done from a radiology center, those who have this machine. Many centers don't have it.
You need to enquire them by calling.
Referral can also solve the purpose.

Multiple myeloma is a plasma cell disorder which eats up the bones. Don't think about these things unless the MDCT report shows them
Keep me posted,

The last medical treament was  the epidural when I went to see a dr. at Pain management..he wants me to go again.I don't feel like it will solve my problem only put it off again for a while. At this time I am not taking any pills etc. I thought you had a good idea of me going for an MDTC..Do I need a referral I have Medicare & blue cross. What kind of doctor do I see for that procedure? I do have some arthritis in my hip
.What is multiple myeloma?

hello jeanne,
If there is a confusion is Sciatica pain, i can try to help you.
Do you have low back pain which radiates to any one or both of the legs??
Is it associated with numbness in the affected part?
Is there any paresthesia , pin pricks sensation?
Is there and weakness?

if majority answers are yes, then you are having sciatica secondary to disk problem.
The failure of epidural shows that the problem is not addressed properly.

Since you are 74, we have to rule out few other spine problems
1) Spondylolisthesis,
2)Osteoporosis or osteoporotic collaspe.
3) Disk pathology.
3) Multiple myeloma.

Since you have a pace maker, we can't do MRI scan. But we can do MDCT (Multidirectional CT).
So tell me, what do you have to say? regarding the pain questions?
Are you on some osteoporotic treatment? Do you have other medical problems (Diabetes/hypertension,etc)??

regards
