8 days ag o I felt like I was having a leg cramp . After a few hours I knew that something else had occurred. I went to a hospital emergency room where a doctor performed an ultrasound test. The ultrasound showed that I have a
Hematoma  . I am using warfarin for atrial fibrillation plus  an 81 mg aspirin. My Pt inr was 2.4 . My calf swelled and began to throb. The next day my calf developed a small "blister like" bubble that eventually burst open and there was some slight bleeding. I used ice for 48 hours (20 mins) off and on.
5 days ago I saw my personal physician . He suggested that I continue the therapy which I have. I am 75 years old and I am still working 35 hours each week...mostly standing. My calf is very painful especially when I have been sitting for a while and start to stand preparing to walk. I understand that the pain will continue for some weeks. Is there anthony you can suggest to lessen the pain? I am fearful of Tylenol and I am not going to risk more blood thinning with aspirin or ibuprofen?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
The haematoma will absorb by itself and there is nothing to worry if you did not have a skin abbrasion or the injury opening up.
If it is an open injury you would need antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs and if it is a closed haematoma only anti inflammatory drugs are required.
You have to visit a Physician if it does not decrease in a week's time. ( 4 weeks for inflammation to subside normally )
Take care!
