knee pain

I twisted my knee and when it happen I heard and felt a pop on the inside of my knee. Also, now when I walk, I have pain and crackling on the outside, under the knee. When I am walking and I have to turn or piviot, I get a pain that runs the inside of my knee. And now I can just be standing there and my knee feels like it is really loose and feels like I hyperextended in, the knee pushes back. How ling should I wait to go to the doctor or should I continue to try and heal it myself. Thank you

I can't get into the orthopedic doctor for 12 days. It is burning from the inside of my knee down into my calf, when I sit with knee bent. What can I do in the interim to alleviate this? It is very painful

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Do not try any abnormal positions or self cure as you can damage your knee further.

You should get some scans done; x-rays to rule out fractures and MRI scans to rule out ligament tears.

Till then rest, do not exert yourself, apply ice packs and if required take intermittent ibuprofen.

Take care!
