Hello!

For Grade I you can try conservative before going for arthroscopy.
For Grade II and Grade III it depends on the orthopedic surgeon's decision and on the extent of damage.

Take the best course of action and also take a second opinion and try conservative before going for any intervention.

The final decision is between you and the surgeon.

Take care!

Hello boytarun,

For Grade I ligament tears it is better for immobilization of the knee in a cylinder cast or a Robert Jones bandage for a period of 3-6 weeks and as the swelling subsides  you have to follow it by physiotherapy.
For Grade II menisci tears if the knee is locked it has to be manipulated under general anesthesia. No special maneuver is needed, as the knee relaxes the torn meniscus falls into place and the knee is unlocked.
In cases where the knee is not locked 2-3 weeks of Robert Jones compression bandage is sufficient followed by physiotherapy.
In Robert Jones three successive layers of cotton are applied with the help of crepe bandage, thus giving compression.

Take care!
