partial knee replacement

Having had a partial knee replacement 6 weeks ago I can say that the movement and flexibility of the knee is very good. I have adhered to the post op exercise regime and I am free from sticks and supports. However I do suffer pain on the inside of my knee whilst walking which may or may not be soft tissue and/or MCL damage or scarring. I suppose I need to give it time although do get a bit disheartened at times as I would not have expected such pain at this stage.

Hi there!

You are showing good progress at six weeks of replacement. I would suggest giving the discomfort/ pain some time to settle as you continue with the physiotherapy. Hopefully it should settle with time. However if it is severe or there are additional symptoms, you may consider a review with your treating orthopedician.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

many thanks. I have just had my other knee done last week (8 weeks between knees) and had discussions with my consultant who said the same thing. He reckons the ops went well and the pain may well be ligament and or the healing process. Hopefully this knee gives me less bother than the first one which is now taking more of the weight. Patience is a virtue!!
