rash and hives after allograft surgery

Help,  my daughter had her 3rd ACL repair.  Only difference this time was she also got a meniscus transplant.  No prior issues after surgery in the past.  After her surgery, she developed a rash behind her operative leg.  Rash was very itchy and then spread to her entire body.  She felt not only itching but burning.  Was taking antihestimines with no relieve.  After numerous visits to her surgeon, a dermatologist swabbed her incision and test came back positive for staph and MRSA.    After numerous visits to her surgeon, he agreed to go back in and clean area and culture . infectious disease dr got involved and did all blood work to rule out infection.    All which came back negative for MRS, STAPH and all they could do after IV ANTIBIOTICS (she needed iv Benadryl as the rash and itching became unbearable.)  is send her home to an allergist.  allergist ran a few tests including autoimmune testing.  New bloodwork came back positive for drug induced lupus!    her rash and itching are not getting better despite on being on so many antihistamines.  Question, anyone experience this?  only thing to do now is to eliminate the only different thing from this surgery and that is the graft.

Holy nightmare!  I'm sorry to read this about your daughter!!  How old is she? Antibiotics didn't help? Well, I guess it did eliminate the bacteria but still!  Wowza! how long has this been going on?  I had thought drug induced lupus was resolved with discontinuation of the drug?  Have they been doing some deductive reasoning for which drug may have caused it or still be causing it if their hypothesis is drug induced lupus?
