retorn meniscus??

hello, i am a 15 year old girl who just underwent a meniscus repair for a bucket handle tear. The surgery was about a month and a half ago and my knee was feeling great until about two weeks ago. Two weeks ago i feel and kind of fell amd twisted on my injured knee. The knee became very hot and swollen almost instantly after it happened. I have not gone back to my ortho doc yet but my therapist thinks i might have re-torn my meniscus. Does any one know what they would do to fix this? could the repair it again, or would they just do a meniscectomy??

thanks for your reply,
I was also wondering do you think they would follow the same steps as last time regarding the surgery?? like six weeks on crutches again but no knee brace again or would they maybe change it? I was also wondering if people usually wore any type of a brace after a meniscus repair because last time i was never in any type of a brace and still do not wear one

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Yes it can be repaired but the strength of the ligament decreases by doing repeated. repairs.
Meniscus are the strongest ligaments of the human body and care should be taken not to displace them.
Proper footwear and ergonimics should be followed.
In you case after assessing the damage the orthopaedician will take the best possible course of action
