searing nerve pain in left shoulder

Every time i eat a large meal i get a searing nerve pain at the tip of my left shoulder.  It last for about 15 minutes and makes eating out a painful experience. The pain is almost like severe toothache so i am guessing is a nerve, is very debilitating and seems to be linked to the expansion of the stomach when you eat heartily.  Any ideas what could be causing this.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I am 52 years old, definitely not hypertensive and have a normal ECG reading. Maybe it could be linked to food as i do get pain in the lower abdomen quite often caused by trapped air which the doctors pass off as IBS.I do work irregular hours (shift work) which is no doubt the reason for that.
Regards,

Hello djclark99 ,
What is your age?Are you hypertensive? You should go in for  ECG to study the electrical activity of the heart? The pain could be due to cerebrovascular reasons or related to  cervical spine .It could be due to nerve irritation after eating food. You need to get an assessment done.
