MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

If you are undergoing physiotherapy or moving your hand actively then sure you can have swelling.

Rest your hand for couple of days, take NSAIDs and maintain complete hygiene till your soft tissue gets repaired.

If you suspect any infection or any healing issues then follow up with your primary surgeon.

Take care!

Swelling is a sign of inflammation and having a surgery to remove those pins definitely causes inflammation.  If it continues to hurt and swell over the next week I would have it checked.  Just to be safe and make sure there is not any type of infection that has developed.  Hope you feel better soon!
