tkr pain

I had tkr 10 weeks ago and have soooo much pain and clunking noises and catching when i bend my knee.  I have good flex, (135 degrees) and extension is 0. I have faithfully been doing my exercises but something seems WRONG. As the swelling has been going down this problem seems to be getting worse. Does anyone have any help, suggestions, or ideas what could be wrong?  Has anyone else had this same problem?

Hello!

If this continues then you would need scans on the present day to evaluate your condition. Need to understand by an X-ray the reason of the clunking and grinding!

Take care!

Thanks for your reminder to be patient and continue to keep up with what I have been doing, but what about the clunking and grinding that are becoming more and more painful?

Hello!

With total knee replacement the pain at the site will be intense for 4 weeks due to post operative pain.

Then there will be some amount of pain till 12 weeks and this may go intense with physical exercise.

The treatment for this is rest for a day and taking NSAIDs intermittently and applying ice packs for 4-5 times regularly every day and continuing your physiotherapy in a progressive way.

Follow up with your orthopedician for any complications and maintain complete hygiene to avoid any infections.

Take care!
