Just on reading your family history regarding cancer, I would say, yes... you should be somewhat concerned, and should seek one or two opinions re your present worries. Of course, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have cancer too... but the stats in your family could put you more at risk for contracting cancer.I have Stage 4 Ovarian cancer. Being the first one on either side of my family to get any type of cancer, just shows that if we are prone to get this disease, then that's it, but having so many other family members with various types of cancer, as you do, then at least you are aware of what to look for. I wish you all the best, and hope that you will let us know how you fare with the Gyno. in two weeks time. Hugs..Helen...
You are heading the right direction to find out what's the cause of all these symptoms.
Please mention family history of cancer to your dr and ask for a transviginal ultrsound and ca125 test to start with. Be persistant if your dr doesn't think there is anything wrong. U also need to know elevated ca125 doesn't mean u have OVCA, but in most OVCA patients have high ca125. Final dx ov OVCA in most cases is from biopsy.
Best wish
