I didn't have trouble until treatment #3. Then, they gave me Aloxi. Please ask your docs about it. Whooboy is it wonderful. Worked for me. I'd have it just prior to chemo, and then again 3 days later. No problems after that.
I had a terrible time with decadron when they used it as a premed and i had to take 40 mg over 6 hours and then had another 20 in the drip ---- I wanted to die from the pain and discomfort. When I didn't premedicate and didn't tell them, the 20 in the drip wasn't so bad --- Now I'm on topo and was so nauseaus they put 10mg of decadron in the drip and it made a huge difference with very few side effects (cranky and bad temper)
Have they given you Emend, companzine, and zofran? that combo get my nausea completely at bay after we cut the decadron to 20mg in the drip. The Kytril is just an injectable zofran as I understand.
Good luck and I hope you feel better --- needless to say, I can empathize.

Wendy, so glad you can put this first one behind you and that you were able to get some good advice from these ladies.
Hugs, Trudie
You can do it! You will find what works for you. I believe the first Rx is the worst, simply cause you have no frame of reference. Now you have some info you can build on, it seems to effect us all a little differently and we tailor our approach accordingly. So glad you are on the upswing! Barb
Glad to hear your feeling better Wendy...It's so important to stay ahead of the nausea...I always found that if I let it go too long I could never get my meds to work. Maybe if they can get you better nausea meds the decadron won't bother you so much...
Only 5 more left...before you know it, you'll be halfway done!
Take care,
Becky
