2 years anniversary - and still fighting....

Today is the 2 year annivesary of my mum's diagnosis of ovarian cancer. I really have mixed feelings when I re-read the post I made 2 years ago at medhelp. Two years ago, exactly on the same day, the doctor gave the diagnosis of 4th stage ovarian cancer to my mum. 2 years later, we met up with the same doctor and this time, the picture is slightly rosier. My mum's treatment is going well although I did not really like to talk about it for fear of jinxing the process.

My mum is still undergoing chemo after the recurrence but it looked as though we may be winning the battle now........while there are still side effects to this chemo regime....my mum is literally 'blooming'......she claims that all her pesky pimples are gone and she actually looked healthy with loads of energy.....after today's 5 hour chemo session - she dragged me off for jewelry shopping that lasted 3 hours (yes....3 hours), a leisurely dinner at a restaurent followed by a trip to the supermarket where she bought enough stuff to stock up the kitchen - she is more energetic than me!

This would be the last chemo for my mum this year 2009 and all the best to all the ladies on this board. For my mum, it is an eventful year with the recurrence of the cancer - but there is hope for her to fight for another remission.
