28 and remaining ovary riddled with a cyst

Hi all, Im so glad ti find a support group on this ghastly cyst issues! Im 28 and have no children. When I was 19 I collapsed in pain and was rushed to A&E and was diagnosed with a 7cm cyst. A few weeks later the surgeon (who i found very incompetent and elderly) removed the cyst and the ovary. Later on he couldnt find the paperwork then retired, so I am still unsure if the cyst was a dermoid or something else. Now 9 years later I am aggreived at all the years of pain this remaining ovary has caused and I have a good surgeon who will remove the 4 cm dermoid that has filled it. I know she will have to take the whole ovary too. My question is in reality apart from the obvious fact that I wont have kids, how else could the absence of both my ovaries affect my life in the long run? I have not met or spoke to anyone in their late twenties without any ovaries.....thanks and peace...I have recently started taking an antidepressant due to the ongoing stress that this pain causes me but I am now certain that a life that is pain free from a horrible poisonous cyst has be more enjoyable? thanks xx

Oops somehow hit post too quickly - there are doctors who have good cystectomy skills but you may have to doctor shop a bit to find them since ovary removal (and hysterectomy) are grossly overused.

Cystectomy (cyst removal) with preservation of your ovary or as much ovarian tissue as possible would be the best treatment if the cysts are benign. The ovaries and uterus are essential a woman's entire life for good health and normalcy. They are the organs that make us female and give us our female traits.

My organs were needlessly removed for a benign ovarian cyst at age 49 and I have aged overnight and every aspect of my life and being has suffered.

There are doctors sho have good cystectomy

For me the lack of cysts has screwed up my sex life. I have had a lot of pain.
