be diligent and get checked again... it could be that you need additional testing to confirm what exactly is wrong. hang in there
I think what you are looking at with the abnormal cells is Cervical dysplasia. It is the finding of abnormal cells on the cervix. It is caused by some type of virus, usually spread to a female by a male. It is most common in woman who have had multiple partners (this includes a male partner who has had multiple female partners) I have a friend who is 40 and only had 2 partners, but her husband and ex-husband both had NUMEROUS partners, therefore she contracted the virus that lead to the displasia.
There are several steps involved, I believe the colposcopy is the second step after the second pap comes back abnormal. I have had 3-4 friends have to go back for a second pap in 3 mos because of abnormal cells found. Only one had an actual issue, the rest have had normal pap's after the first one being abnormal. The abnormal cells can be "burned off" and never cause a problem again. But remember it depends on the severity of the abnormal cells.
